Funlola Coker, MFA
Funlola Coker is a metalsmith from Lagos, Nigeria. She is fascinated by history, science fiction and storytelling. Coker’s work explores her experience as an immigrant - the sense of losing one’s identity and blending into a new society so completely that one’s culture feels lost and forgotten, like a past life. She creates works that call on nostalgic memories and moments of the mundane that are held dear.
