Through digging, sifting and sorting lithic fragments, Batchelder ruminates on disintegration, where stone crumbles to dust. Here the mount is the setting—stones pushed through metal in a very direct way, while also illustrating how they were discovered in the landscape. The rock-like pendants are segments of ground, considering what is above and below the surface.
